Moto MINDs

Power in small numbers. From strategist to designer, Moto is a collection of professionals committed to the industry. We're  specialists with one goal in mind: create desire.

Dru Martin, Right Brain: lead strategist & the user experience. Dru is the Creative Director specializing in brand development and interactive design. He began as an art director and designer for two leading Portland agencies before forming his own firm in 1996 to pursue experience design. His past work includes developing and managing new brands and interactive for a wide range of clients such as adidas and HP. Dru has served the Portland design community as the Experience Design chair as well as Vice President for the local AIGA, the professional association for design. He's also a contributor to The Bear Deluxe and Born Magazine.

Michael Krol, Left Brain: usability design & leading technologies. Michael is the Technical Director, providing guidance on projects including information architecture, user interface design, database design, accessibility and application development. Michael developed his technical skills during a career that has taken him from Chicago to Denver to San Francisco to Portland, where he sprouted his first agency. Michael has made valuable contributions to the Portland Advertising Federation and the AIGA. He now spends his spare time chasing two children and dodging flying Cheerios.

Melissa Armour, Corpus Collosum: focused & passionate about the client. Melissa is the producer and account manager at Moto. From designer to design manager, Melissa has followed the off-beaten path of enlightenment to her position at Moto. Like a mountain sherpa on mission, Melissa will be your guide, whether it's website architecture, tracking the details and scheduling, or collaborating with clients and copywriters.

Steven Rios, Art Director: powerful & the unexpected. His work is powered by a childhood in a border town and his love for Mexican bingo. Late nights and dedication to the result have brought him awards and recognition. Most often you'll find him wrapping his head around detailed strategies, developing new concepts that reach new and specific audiences. All this- yet he still can't pass on a thrift store to save his life.

Brian Howard, Developer: the details & search engine optimization. A BFA is the sign of someone willing to fight to produce moving experiences, no matter how challenging the environment. Brian laughs at our attempts to phase his ability to bring new ideas to life. New methods, protocols and development environments keep his attention, nearly long enough for us to catch up. He's there for the client, the user and the code itself.
